About Me

 Hi there.

My name is Jessica Bitsura and I am a singer/songwriter from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee as a Music Business student at Belmont University.

Before I am anything, I am a songwriter.  Writing songs has been my medium of self-expression for the past seven years.  As I change as a person, my music style has changed as well, but it continues to serve as an honest extension of myself.

In Pittsburgh, I got to working on establishing myself as an artist by performing shows across the Greater Pittsburgh Area. By booking my own shows starting at the age of sixteen, I have been able to hone not only my performance craft, but my professional craft as well.  I guess you could call me a DIY musician.

In Nashville, I am still working on building my brand, but I have had a few great opportunities there, too.  I have performed at several open mics and writers nights, namely the famous Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner Cafe, the Commodore Grille, Daisy Dukes, the Country, and more. I've met some songwriters who have had cuts with Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Wayne, Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, and Kelsea Ballerini. I’ve attended a few songwriting conventions as well.  In 2017, my song “1 Life Stand” was named by the Nashville Songwriters Association International as one of the Top 24 songs of the 2017 Spring Training event.

Because I am a very "Type A" person when it comes to accomplishing goals, my hobbies are more of the relaxed type.  I would choose staying in and reading a book with a cup of coffee over something like skydiving any day.  I am known best to those around me for my dry sense of humor and witty comments that come out when you least expect them.  I believe in telling the truth at all costs.  I believe in giving a helping hand whenever I can, because Lord knows we all need it sometimes.  I am a dreamer but also an extreme realist who believes in the value of hard work. I think it's true that if you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will.  I am me and I will never apologize for that :)

I know deep down that I was born to write, and I appreciate all of the support I have received in my musical journey so far.  I hope you'll stick around for the ride.  I can't wait to see where it takes me next. ♡

                                                                      Xoxo
